Friday DIY: Make Your Own Scratch Offs!

So this may seem like a totally non-wedding related DIY but just think of all the possibilities! Save the Dates, like in the images below, are just the tip of the iceberg. Why not create a cute Will You Be My Bridesmaid card, come up with a fun game for your bridal shower or bachelorette party, and even use the concept for a cute place setting or menu card with a game that helps guest get to know more about you or to encourage guest interaction. See, I told you there were so many ways to use the idea.

Here’s what you need:

  • Metallic acrylic paint (pictured, $4.75, utrechtart.com)
  • Liquid dish soap
  • 1/4-inch-wide watercolor brush

Combine one part dish soap with two parts metallic acrylic paint. Paint neatly over the area you want to hide with a thin layer. Let it dry thoroughly, about 1 hour, and then add a second layer. Let second coat dry thoroughly (about 1 more hour).
