Amy and I enjoyed a beautiful Saturday with other area vendors and newly-engaged brides at the exquisite Hermitage Hotel. The Nashville Lifestyles Wedding Bridal Show was quaint and personal; a perfect setting for getting started on planning! To add to the festivities, lunch was provided by The Hermitage and cake by Maples. Need I say more about the menu!
While enjoying dessert, Tara Guérard, founder and president of Soiree by Tara Guérard, spoke to the guests about details, details, details using examples from her newly-released publication, Weddings by Tara Guérard. I thought I would share some of the these details with you as you design your wedding day.
~ Weave ribbon in your colors through the spindles of chivari chairs.
~ Repurpose your placecards as party favors. Example: Etch your guests’ glassware with their names for them to take as a memento for the event or label boxes of chocolates with guests’ names.
~ Never let guests stand in long lines. Serve tapas style or hire servers.
~ Serve the groomscake as rehearsal dinner dessert. Even design the rehearsal dinner around the likes and interests of the groom. (Perfect idea for the grooms’ family who plans this part of the wedding!)
~My favorite takeaway is her desire to create original wedding designs for her brides and to have guests walking away saying it was a FANTASTIC PARTY!
