Friday DIY: Recycled Can Caddy Centerpiece

Happy Friday and, to those who celebrate, Happy Christmas Eve Eve! We hope everyone enjoys spending time with family and remembering the true meaning of this holiday. With so much hustle, bustle, and waste it’s important to take a step back and remember that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ. How ever you choose to spend this weekend we hope it’s memorable. We’re also sending out happy thoughts to those of you who are unofficially engaged. We’re hoping you’ll find something sparkly under that tree!

Now on to the DIY. These little gems would be perfect for spring and summer weddings. Whether you simply use them as vases or you actually plant a little something in them they’d look great as centerpieces! Don’t just limit your idea to flowers. Consider planting herbs for your future herb garden too!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 6 Lg 4 inch Diameter Tin Cans {emptied and cleaned}
  • A Scrap Piece of 1X6 Pressure Treated Deck Floor Board {cut to 9 inches long} * If you are planting any edible plant you’ll want to use UN Pressure Treated wood. Treated wood will contaminate the soil thus contaminating your herbs or veggies.
  • Drill
  • 2 1/2 inch Hole Saw Drill Bit
  • Palm sander
  • Spray Paint
  • Small Drill Bit
  • Screws
