If you have ever visited The Factory at Franklin, then you must have eaten at Stoveworks. We live for their sweet potato fries and several other delicious menu items. However, the point of this post is to let you know that Stoveworks is two more things. A great rehearsal dinner venue and A classic caterer.
At the beginning of the year, Jennifer King and Kent Campbell came to Stoveworks looking to do something different for their wedding reception. Although the couple were tying the knot on Friday, April 2 and hosting an intimate dinner reception for their close family and friends, they wanted to continue the celebration the following night with an expanded dessert reception (how fun, right?). Already being a fans of the restaurant, Jen and Kent were very excited to show us off to their family and friends! On Saturday, April 3, we transformed Stoveworks from a busy, lunch restaurant, to an elegant space, filled with all of Jen and Kent’s favorite desserts! There was no holding back when it came to Jen and Kent’s favorite things – especially the banana pudding!
Mini servings of Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake, Banana Cake, Chess Pie, and Fudge Pie were served on beautiful cake stands. Guests also enjoyed Peach Cobbler and they had to fight Kent for the Banana Pudding (And yes, for the record, we did let him take home the leftovers!) Next, guests had their choice of oversized cookies: Snickerdoodles, Macadamia Nut, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Chip! We displayed these in beautiful, clear, cookie jars. The couple designed all the signage for the desserts so that it matched the invitations and overall theme of the wedding!
In the middle of our Patio, we also did a chocolate fountain! The fountain was surrounded by cascading strawberries, pound cake, pretzels, and marshmallows. Also, by placing the chocolate fountain on a round table in the center of the room, it allowed for an eye-catching piece and great movement and flow throughout the room.
Not wanting guests to be overwhelmed by all the sugar, Jen and Kent added a few fruit, cheese and vegetable trays to be placed throughout the room. Because the majority of the focus was on the sweet things, not very many of the “healthy” trays were needed!
Oh, but we aren’t done yet! When Jen heard about our newest creation – a Make-Your-Own-S’mores Station – She had to have it as a surprise for Kent (p.s. how cool does that make her?!). With this station, guests have the opportunity to literally roast a marshmallow to their liking! It is a huge hit with both kids and adults alike!
Last but certainly not least, guests enjoyed Coffee and Iced Tea to compliment the food.
Do something unexpected!! In this case, Jen and Kent had the S ‘mores station. Also, little personal touches will make guests remember your reception. For example, because Jen and Kent had two days of celebrations, they tied both events together. All of the same colors were used, along with the candle holders and flowers. They also created the menu cards with the same design as their invitations and programs.
