Congratulations to all of the newly engaged brides-to-be! You must be excited to start planning, so what better way to get your feet wet than to go to a few bride shows?! There are several happening in the next few weeks, so Heather and I are going to give you all of the details and tips on how to prepare!
The low down on the different shows:
January 5th: Enchanted Bride Show
This show will take place at the Hutton Hotel. It is a smaller show that will include a bridal ware fashion show. This is a fun, relaxed, and intimate bride show experience. It will take place that afternoon between 12-4PM. You can register for your tickets HERE.
January 12th: Nashville Perfect Wedding Guide Show
This show will take place at the new Omni Hotel. It is one of the larger shows, but not overwhelming. This is the first time the PWG show has been at the Omni Hotel, and we are very excited to participate at the new location. This show will take place between 12-4PM. You can register for your tickets HERE.
January 19th: Nashville Pink Bridal Show
This show will take place at the Music City Center. It is one of the largest bridal shows you will attend. But don’t be scared! That just means more cake. We will also be at this one to provide free wedding planning help! This show will take place between 11AM-4PM. You can register for your tickets HERE.
Survival Tips:
~ Wear comfortable shoes: There will be a lot of walking! No one likes it when their feet hurt.
~Bring a tote bag: Most shows provide some type of back, but just in case, bring one so you can collect vendor information.
~Leave the entourage behind: If it’s your first bride show, it can be chaotic. You don’t want to have 17 people with you. One or two people will be just enough to help you navigate the show and to bounce ideas off each other.
~Don’t bring kids: These shows can be long and loud. Kids won’t enjoy it, and you won’t enjoy them being upset. Make it an adult trip!
~ Create stickers: You will be asked to write down your information a whole lot. If you make stickers with your name, wedding date, and email address then that will save time and make it easier for you and the vendor.
~Take a pen: Write notes on the business cards! You will leave with so much vendor information that you won’t remember who’s who. Notes will make it easy for you to remember which vendors were your favorites.
~Make a Wedding- ONLY email address: You will be asked to give your email address at almost every vendor booth. You do not want all of us emailing your personal email with discounts and specials. You can keep all of your wedding-related emails separate from your personal and work emails by using a wedding-only email address.
Yahoo, Hotmail, and many others offer free email accounts. Use one of these services to create your wedding-only email address. Give this email address out at the show, and save your personal email address for the vendors you contract to use for your wedding.
These are a few of the basic, but most important, bridal show survival tips. Heather and I have worked these bride shows the last two years, so we are giving you this advice as bride show veterans! We will be at all of them, so be sure to come by and see us!
