Today we are going to chat about The Chef & I, a husband and wife team who can truly make the food at your event just as memorable as the ceremony!
Chris Rains, the chef, has accomplishments for days in his background like pleasing the tast buds of locals and tourists alike at the Wildhorse Saloon or working as the Executive Chef of Levy Restaurants at the Bridgestone Arena (known as the Gaylord Entertainment Center back then). He’s been making mouths water for over 20 years so he definitely has the skills and talent to make your reception perfection.
Erica, the I in The Chef & I, is Chris’s wife and proud co owner of the company. She works along side him helping with tastings, client meetings, and so much more. This couple truly is a treat to be around. The are fun, witty, and the food is unbelievable.
I’ve had the pleasure of eating their delectable bites on more than one occasion and I can tell you, it’s always delish!
Aside from their great personalities and the wonderful food, they offer the full experience. Some caterers don’t like to do tastings but The Chef & I LOVE to do them. It’s a great way for you to see just how Chris works and sample some of the best bites you lips have ever met. The other thing that makes them special is that everything that can be made on site, is made on site. This is a rarity but Chris truly believes in you getting the freshest, most delicious food and the only way he can guarantee that, is to create his masterpieces right on the spot.

The last thing I’m going to rave about is their Strawberry Injection Bar. This is one of the coolest dessert ideas ever. Basically strawberries dipped in your choice of Milk, Dark, or White chocolate, decorated to match your color scheme are injected with a variety of fine liquors like:
- Jack Daniels
- Godiva White Chocolate Liquor
- Grand Marnier
- Stoli Vanilla Vodka
- St. Germain
- Red Stag by Jim Beam
- Cuestion Tequila Blanco
This bar has it’s own injection staff person at your event so not only is it tasty, it’s also a bit of entertainment. The guest selects the type of strawberry, then the flavor they want injected, and the staff will make the strawberry right there on the spot. The staff can even make combination recommendations to your guests. It’s delicious and fun!
