Owner and lead photographer, Britt Simmons, is fine art with a five o’clock shadow – a pour your heart out, right-on-the-lips, rule-breaking sentimentalist who loves a good story. “Nashville is a city that has no shortage of iconic venues and locations. From a photographer’s perspective, there are just too many great locations to choose from.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot at the Parthenon. Pound for pound (it’s a lot of pounds… omg so many) it’s a great location but it has been done quite a bit. So with my beautiful couple from Georgia, I set out to get something different – something unlike what I had seen in the past. As we were shooting and having a great time, it happened: light from the sun shot through the colonnade and backlit my couple up perfectly. This was it! With minimal direction, I had the shot I was looking for.
As an artist, I’m always trying to refine my approach and make it distinctive; to do work that blows the doors off of “good”. To anyone planning a wedding: I would encourage you to look for photographers, videographers, venues, caterers, etc that have a distinctive and unique perspective. Something that sets them apart from their peers in a special and unique way by the work that they do. You’ll be glad you did.
